Hands down, one of the biggest questions I get ask is, “Can you really make money on YouTube?”
The simple answer is yes.
But…it takes time.
What it takes to make money on YouTube:
Making money on YouTube is NOT a get rich quick scheme. If you want to start a YouTube channel and think you are going to start raking it in in 3 months, you might as well hang up your hat now.
YouTube is a long term strategy.
I took me about 1 year to get monetized with YouTube Ads and it took me a couple years to start making consistent revenue off of selling my online guitar courses and about 3 years to make a full-time income.
With that in mind…
You can make money on YouTube with the following:
-
Consistency
You need to be persistent to be successful on YouTube. There will be ups and downs. You should commit to releasing at least 1-2 videos every week to your channel to start getting traction on your channel.
-
Game plan
YouTube is a business and should be treated like one. You will need to have a game plan about what your channel is going to be about, who your target audience is and how exactly you are going to make money off that audience.
-
Sales platform
You will need a place outside of YouTube to send your audience and followers. This could be a website or a course platform like Kajabi to send viewers to sign-up for an email list or purchase a product from you.
-
Targets
What’s the end game? What’s the goal of your channel? What’s the purpose and how much money do you want to make each and every month. $2000? $4000? $10,000? How will you get there?
Go for it!
Starting a YouTube channel back in 2017 was one of the best decisions I made. There were definitely times I wanted to give up because things weren’t going as fast as I wanted.
I will admit that there were many things I know now that could have helped me grow faster in the beginning stages. You can check out my free training if you are interested in learning some of those things.
